about ash

Ash Barty is one of Australia’s most celebrated and respected athletes. A former professional tennis player, she achieved the World No. 1 ranking in singles and is a three-time Grand Slam singles champion, capturing the titles at the French Open, Wimbledon, and the Australian Open.

Ash was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) in June 2022 for her distinguished service to tennis at the elite level and her commitment to youth development programs. Her inspiring career led her to receive the prestigious Sport Australia Hall of Fame's The Don Award not just once, but twice (in 2019 and 2022), only the third athlete to have won the Award more than once.

Following her retirement from tennis in 2022, Ash channelled her energy into new roles. She founded the Ash Barty Foundation alongside her family and is now a dedicated mum, mentor, best-selling author, and advocate.

Driven by her Indigenous heritage and a passion for mentoring, Ash actively leverages her foundation to establish sport and education pathways, creating opportunities for youth across Australian communities.
